Today, January 27, 2021, we had our third webinar of the series “Decolonising the Curriculum: The Work.” For this last webinar, we were joined by:
Prof. Nathalis G. Wamba, Professor at Queens College (City University of New York),
Franck Binze, PhD candidate from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa,
Christopher Jekens, SU Education Manager at the University of Essex, and
Dr Riaan Oppelt, lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch.
The discussion focused on the need for decolonisation of universities. The guest speakers discussed the following questions and more:
What does decolonising the university mean to you?
Is there a practical way in which you think this can be done?
What role does the university play in decolonisation and how effective is it?
In order to hear the answers to all of the questions asked during the event, you can watch the recording of the webinar here.
